This website is the result of me purchasing a digital camera. When looking around for things to photograph I discovered a whole new world of creatures that lived in my own backyard. I later ventured to the foreshores of Lake Macquarie at the bottom of our street then into the bush on the Western side of the lake.

I have tried to identify the subjects of my photos and add a brief description. Not all the photos are as good as I would like and there is no guarantee the identifications are correct. Hopefully someone will tell me if I am wrong. The process of finding, photographing and identifing the subjects has been lots of fun. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos of some of our local creatures, and a couple of imports as well.
